Band name

These are the band i am puting on the contents page as the main image. I now need a name for this band so i am thinking and collecting other peoples ideas too.

Contents page research

I am now analysing contents pages of popular music magazine such as Q, Vibe and NME. I choose to use these magazines as they are very popular and well known therefore my magazine would have to compete with these magazine so i am analysing and decideding how could i make my contents page stand out and better than the others

I have used the images from the first and only photoshoot as they are what i want and work really well on the contents page. I have considered another photo shoot however i don't think i need to do one at this time.

I am deciding which images from the photoshoot i want to use for my contents page. I want to consider the article as well so i need to dicide which ones would look best for each. The images i am deciding with are:

Things i need to do to complete the contents page:
- Use the same style as front cover - linking.
- Have a colour scheme.
- Use images from photo shoot - possibly of the same person who is on front cover or a different one.
- Interactivity - From research i found out that people like the magazine to be interactive. Possibly a voucher to concert or magazine blog.
- All articles featured in the magazine. Use an image for the main story to link to the next project (article).

Next step

Now i have completed my music magazine front cover, i am concentrating on creating a contents page. I am going to consider the style, the style of the contents page and pages throughout the magazine must link with the front cover to make it look well put together.
This deadline for the article to be completed is 18th Febuary 2011 so i better get on...

I am now piecing together the front cover of my music magazine now i have the images.

Photo shoot outcome

These images are some examples of useable images which i took.

This is a group image which all the models look really good together. However the bottom of the image is cut off so i would have to concider.

This image is one of my favorites, therefore i will be seriously concidering using this as a dominant image for my front cover.

This image is another one of my favorites, therfore i shall also be seriously considering this for the dominant image of the front cover.

I have decided that this image may be used as an insert as it looks good as a mid shot with it including props.

I like this image as it is different with a head flick, however for my magazine i don't think it would be appropriate.

I am considering using this image as an insert as it is playful and rocky. The messy hair looks querky along with the playing with the prop micro phone.

This image is very different, i like it very much and would consider this image for the magazine however not sure if it is for the front cover.

This image is at a different angle and looks good however considering other images i prefer them to this.

All the models look good in this image and it is at a different angle from a birds eye view, it would be interesting to use and therefore considering.

I like the aspect of querkyness in this image with the model on the floor including part of a prop for interest. The model looks good from this high angle shot therefore again considering this image for the magazine.

These are the tester images which i took to see how props, models and lighting should be used.

 This image shows me sorting out and styling my model ready for the shoot.

 This is a tester shot, however i didn't like the abgle they we're facing...

 ...therefore i moved my models onto an angle so they are interacting and interesting. This image was a tester to see what the angle looks like.

 I told my model to try a head flick, however the timing was a bit off therefore these shots we're tester shots until i got the shot i wanted...

 This shot is different however i thought the bass should be facing the camera so i have other shots of this image.

 This shot was tricky to get as i couldn't really see the image i was taking so this is the forst shot i took to get the angle right on the camera above them.

 I tried something different with one of the models however it didn't work out as the footwear looks like it takes over the image.

This was a lighting tester shot, the light was turned off and i tried a shot like that however the lighting looked better when the light was on.

The photo shoot went really well and i have some great shots to work with and many to choose from. Here are some examples of shots i got which are not useable:

This image is querky with the messy hair yet i think the craziness is a bit too much and the face is hidden a lot therefore the viewer wouldn't be able to relate to this image.

Again this image is not expeted yet it is a fun and different angle however this is one of the shots which not all the models are looking their best to be on the front cover.

I tried using a prop of a micro phone and use its cord to interact with the models, however it didn't work as well as i thought.

In this image the lighting is too dark, however i do have other images with correct lighting.

I don't think this image is appropriate for my music magazine, i have other amazing shots to work with.

Deadlines

I have now found out my deadlines for the music magazine.

Evaluation: 15th April

These dates are Immovable therefore i will deffinatly need a check list so i know what i have got to do in the time i have and use the time effectively.

Today has been successful as the photo went well and i have got some great shots to work with.

The photo shoot date has been finalised to 5th January 2011 as a few of us have rehearsals together therefore can go straight from there to my friends house. My friends house is convenient for the images as she has a plain wall so it is easier to edit.

I haven't managed my time very well over the holidays therefore this is why i am pushed for time. I now know that i need to work on my time management skills to make future work less rushed and better.

Photo shoot

On Wednesday 5th January 2011 there will be rehearsals at Withernsea High School for the school production, i shall take this opportunity in taking some images there as i can work with backgrounds and props.
